Every request Golden made for Community Project Funding was included in the legislation passed today. Those projects include:

$963,000 for theNorthern Maine Law Enforcement Equipment Modernization Project ; -
$963,000 for theBelfast Police Department for equipment upgrades; -
$1,500,000 for theRumford-Mexico Sewerage District for Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements; -
$731,000 for theStonington Water Company for Drinking Water Infrastructure Improvements; -
$1,760,000 for theTown of Castine for Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements; -
$7,000,000 for theTown of Livermore Falls for Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades; -
$1,000,000 for theTown of Lubec for Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements; -
$1,500,000 for theWinterport Water District for Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades; -
$1,105,000 for theLewiston Beech Street Economic Development Infrastructure Project ; -
$1,000,000 for the Burrough Road Bridge Replacement inLisbon ; -
$777,000 for Operation Reboot’s Dream Bigger Campaign to create anADA compliant outdoor healing facility; -
$3,972,000 for Augusta’s Front Street Resiliency Improvements; -
$861,279 for the Kotuwaposu Pleasant Point New Youth and Recreational Facility; -
$1,941,000 for theMargaret Chase Smith Community School andEarly Childhood Center inSkowhegan ; and -
$500,000 for the NMCC Andrews Hall Renovation inPresque Isle ;
The package includes several other priorities Golden has championed in the past, including:
- Requiring the FDA to include paper inserts of important medical information alongside prescription drugs, which are mass produced at the Twin Rivers paper mill in
Madawaska ; -
$134.8 billion for theDepartment of Veterans Affairs , including critical funding for veterans medical care, such as$17.1 billion to treat veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other hazardous chemicals; - Blocking any new restrictions to reproductive freedoms, such as expanded access to abortion services through the
VA ; - Reversing a
$1.2 billion cut to theCrime Victims Fund , which provides necessary assistance to victims of child and elder abuse, domestic and sexual violence, exploitation, and more; - Funding for Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Plan (SIOP), which would allocate
$2.4 billion in investments at the Navy’s four public shipyards, includingPortsmouth Naval Shipyard , in order to meet nuclear fleet maintenance requirements and improveNavy maintenance capabilities; and - Roughly
$7 billion for rental assistance, homelessness assistance and affordable housing in theHousing and Urban Development budget.
