LOS ANGELES , December 16, 2024 (Industry Intelligence Inc.) –

David Allon's varied background has brought him here.

As a former journalist, lawyer, consultant, entrepreneur, and hedge fund strategist; all of these experiences has led to Allon tackling perhaps his most important role yet: president and managing CEO of Transformation Packaging, the manufacturer of ExpandOS, a protective packaging solution that replaces bubble wrap and foam and plastic bubble cushioning.

"Everything I have done, everything I have learned through my careers, has led me to this opportunity to improve the environment by helping to remove single-use plastics from the stream of commerce, and to offer a superior product at the same time," Allon said.

ExpandOS’ sustainably-sourced, interlocking paper pyramids are created on site with the company’s Expander machine. ExpandOS provides protective packaging for any shipment that would otherwise rely on single-use plastics such as bubble wrap or foam or bubble.

"We process specially sourced SFI- certified paper at our plant in outside Columbus, Ohio,” Allon said. "We then ship the paper to our customers who then expand the paper on-site with the use of our patented Expanders. Using our patented Expander machines, customers are able to expand the volume of this paper 25:1 on site.”

ExpandOS is cost-competitive with foam and bubble wrap, recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable, Allon said.

“We even use soy- or water- based ink,” Allon noted. "As an added benefit, the company can customize the paper with company logos for customers who buy in quantity and want to promote their commitment to sustainability. We also offer print logos on our paper for customers who buy 10 pallets of our paper at a time."

ExpandOS is used in aerospace, automotive, tableware, glass, lighting, ceramics and porcelain, among other industries, and it has ISTA- certified test results for fragile and hard-to-pack products.that validate the product’s highly protective packaging capabilities.

"Best of all, ExpandOS conforms to items and boxes, obviating the need for custom packaging," Allon said. “Because ExpandOS functions as a one-size-fits-all solution, and the process is uniquely suited for automation applications for to bottom- and top- filling boxes."

Transformation Packaging and ExpandOS are rapidly gaining market share as it addresses the core demands of the packaging industry: sustainability, automation, competitive cost, and consistent protection from shipping damage.

“We have carefully managed our expansion this year to make sure we support our customers as they grow with us,” Allon said. “Having invested substantially in R&D, our manufacturing plant, and our automation systems, we are now poised to replace even more single-use plastics in the packaging industry.”

Allon said sales are up over 65% this year, and he expects the company will grow two-to-three times this coming year.

“We’ve barely scratched the surface of this massive market,” Allon said. “Now we are ready to execute.”
