TUNKHANNOCK, Pennsylvania , March 26, 2012 (Associated Press) – An employee at a northeastern Pennsylvania paper factory is dead following an industrial accident.

Officials at the Procter & Gamble Inc. paper products plant say 36-year-old Jason Slavish died Saturday afternoon, a little more than an hour after being injured while repairing a machine.

Company officials say the accident happened while production lines were shut down for routine maintenance. The Wyoming County coroner says Slavish, of Luzerne, died from head trauma sustained while repairing a machine.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the accident along with company officials.

The Wyoming County plant makes products including diapers, toilet paper, paper towels and napkins. Grief counselors will be at the plant this week to meet with employees.
